Wallets and Bracelets

For our mutual activity the young men made bracelets for the young women and the young women made duct tape wallets for the young men. All were good sports, participated and had FUN!

Scouts High Adventure

The older scouts spent a week in Hatteras (Frisco, actually) camping at the Billy Mitchell camp ground. There they kayaked, body boarded, fished and took a LONG bike hike - over the Ocracoke Ferry and back.

Brother and Sister Block drove to the Outer Banks to check on the scouts and their leaders, making a day trip of it. When they arrived no one was to be found. Can you say, "CROATAN?" Spooky!

The Blocks spent a few hours playing in the surf, loving the beach and visiting the Hatteras light house. It wasn't until they were leaving that they met up with the scouts... who were several hours late in their return to camp. Turns out the bike hike was quite ambitious and took longer than expected. Nonetheless, all had a great time.

YM/YW Annual Beach Party at the Block's Beach House

Time for the annual beach party at the Block's little beach house. Mary took charge of the whole thing this year - even bringing luau decorations, and making banana splits Doumar style.

Everyone had a great time and left the house cleaner than ever. THANKS FOR THAT, say the Blocks.

The Scouts at Camp Pipsico

Brother and Sister Block checked on the scouts - who were spending the week at Camp Pipsico. It happened to be one of the HOTTEST weeks of the year, everyone was drenched. Nonetheless we found the scouts, and their leaders, cooking over the fire. That's the scout spirit!! Our little ward had the most boys and provided half the leaders. A HUGE thanks to Brother Clore and Lance for spending the WHOLE WEEK with the scouts!
