Troop #304

On January 1-3 the Young Men went on a camping trip to Washington, DC. On the first night we arrived at the campsite, set up our tents, and proceeded to Cici's Pizza. There we ate until we were fat and happy. After Cici's we visited the DC Temple. We were able to see all the Christmas lights. We also went to the visitors center where we were able to see the various Nativity scenes from around the world. Certainly a spiritual experience for all!

On the second day we went to Downtown DC. This adventure involved lots and lots of walking. We felt like a bunch of pioneer children when we were all done. Among the sites visited were the: Holocaust Memorial, FDR, Jefferson Memorials, and the newly renovated American History Museum. The day was quite chilling, but our Young Men were well prepared for the weather.

Later that night everyone got to try some of Bro. Weedman's Dutch oven Lasagna (mmm mmm good). As we all sat around the campfire and told Chuck Norris jokes. On the third day we broke camp and headed for home. The trip was a success. Working with the youth of Norfolk 1st. Ward is a demanding, yet rewarding calling. We look forward to having many more Scouting adventures this year.
